📍 Church of Sant’Oronzo alla Grotta
The spiritual heart of the itinerary, the church rises above the grotto revered for centuries as Saint Oronzo’s refuge during Roman persecutions. Here, faith and history intertwine: the medieval altar, the baptismal font of the miraculous water, and the extraordinary 18th-century majolica floor from Laterza surround visitors in an intense, contemplative atmosphere. A place that invites silence and reflection, still today a destination of pilgrimage and deep popular devotion.📍 Grotto of Sant’Oronzo
An ancient medieval place of worship, the grotto was consecrated after the plague of 1656–1658, when—according to tradition—the Saint revealed its entrance to a young woman in prayer, promising salvation to the community of Turi. In the 18th century it became the crypt of the church above and preserves one of the most precious Laertine majolica floors in Puglia (1727–1728), composed of 238 decorated tiles—a true artistic jewel that makes this site unique and deeply evocative.📍 Monumental Cemetery of Turi
A stop of strong emotional impact, the Monumental Cemetery tells the story of the community through headstones, symbols, and inscriptions spanning generations. It is a place for reflection, where the cult of the dead intertwines with collective memory, revealing the profound bond between the living, their ancestors, and the history of the town.📍 Collegiate Church of the Assumption (Chiesa Madre)
Majestic and solemn, the Mother Church is Turi’s main place of worship and a treasure chest of Renaissance and late Baroque art. Inside are valuable paintings, monumental altars, wooden sculptures, and decorations that testify to the cultural and spiritual richness of the town. Its elegant façade and soaring bell tower dominate the historic centre, making it the ideal place to conclude the itinerary and fully understand Turi’s identity. Why choose this experience
