Chapel of the Madonna delle Grazie

As the only surviving example of the many small chapels that once stood within Turi’s historic centre, the Chapel of Sant’Anna has been officially protected since 1980 and recognised as a significant site of historical and artistic interest within the tradition of minor 18th-century religious architecture.

The chapel is characterised by regularly coursed rusticated stonework and consists of a single rectangular space covered by a lunette barrel vault. Its exterior features a simple gabled façade and a small bell gable with a single opening.

Inside, the original painting depicting Saint Anne holding the Virgin Mary as a child is still preserved.

The chapel remains a place of deep local devotion, particularly on 8 September, when the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is celebrated.
